Happy Mother’s Day to mothers all around the world!

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How are you all doing?  Although this post is a little late, it is still Mother’s Day and therefore still relevant. So, Happy Mother’s Day first off to my very own mother, as well as to all those soon-to-be-mothers, new mothers, mothers who have adopted or mothers who have been doing their thang for as long as they can remember.  Continue reading

A year older and hopefully a year wiser…

Hello, hello, hello Tomodachi’s!

I know it has been quite a while since I last posted anything on my blog and I am sorry for that, but I just needed some time to myself. A couple of stressful things had been going on in my life that I kind of needed to sort out and come to terms with but life goes on nonetheless.

On this blessed Friday evening, I make 27 years old and as I get older I do hope I also get wiser because no one wants to be around and an old fool… That was a joke… You can laugh now. Lol

Anyway, on this day after not blogging for quite some time, I leave you all with a poem called ‘No Money’ because one way or another we have all been through this (situation). Enjoy!

No money

God only knows

How many times I’ve uttered those words:

“Sorry, I’ve got no money

Sorry, I’ve got no money

Sorry I’ve got no MONEY.”

With hands buried deep in my pockets

Forming into fists

I utter these disgraceful words

That chain me down like a prisoner.

Before, I used to fight against these chains

Like a stubborn mule fighting against the pull of its owner

But now I just give in

Because at this moment, there is just no helping it.

As someone gleeful comes and asks me

To ‘join them’ in eating, playing or traveling

Before their long winding requests and desires can leave their lips

I can already hear myself uttering those disgraceful words

“Sorry I’ve got no money.”

I utter these words not only in shame

But also in pity because of my helplessness:

Sorry I’ve got no money

Sorry I’ve got no money

Sorry I’ve got no money…

However, though for now all I can say is: “Sorry I’ve got no money”

I am building myself and working towards that day

Where I can confidently say: “Yes, let’s go. I’ve got money.”

Hey, You, Young Women of the World!

Hello again Tomodachi’s,

Apologies, apologies, apologies. Though this blog post is coming MUCH later (a day later in fact) than I was expecting to post it, but as promised, here it is. On my Monday’s blog post I spoke about me presenting a spoken word poem on stage at the Hostel Rooms on Sunday evening. The poem is called Hey, You, Young Women of the World. When you read the poem below you will be able to interpret the poem the way you want to interpret it. It is alright to debate on what it means to you or how you interpreted it.

It has already been two years…

Hello Tomodachi’s,

Earlier today a thought crossed my mind and I realised that January 8 (although the date has already passed) made two years that I became a published author to my first poetry book, I’m Only Human. Then I thought “Damn! Time sure does fly.” The saying ‘Time waits for no one’ is very true indeed. I wish time could slow down just a little. It is going way too fast. My gosh! Continue reading

All lives matter

What a well-written and nicely performed spoken word by Anthony Mcpherson. I rather enjoyed the satire nature of the poem. Although, not everyone will like the poem I found it to be quite refreshing. Take a look the video for yourself. Did you like it and found it as refreshing as I did? Continue reading

Challenge accepted!

Hey, you lovely folks. These past few days I have been feeling a little irritable but every day cannot be sunshine and roses, right?

Anyway, on Sunday I was told by my singing coach to write a spoken word poem because he though it would help me with practicing how to sing properly. However, the problem (well, not really a probem) is I have never written a spoken word poem before. I have no experience in this area but I still took the challenge for myself. I have read a couple of my poems when I record myself on camera, but that is nothing compared to spoken word, so this was sort of a new area for me.

I never said I could not write it but I just never tried. It never crossed my mind before to try even though I have posted many spoken word poems on my blog before. Within less than a day my poem somewhat completed. This morning I sent my spoken word poem voice recording to some friends asking for their  feedback. Although, I have never had explicit content in any of my writings, this piece called for it and it might be a smidge explicit for some. So be Warned.

I do intend to share this spoken word one of these days but not at this moment. Once I have perfected it I might share it later.

Well, that is all for today, folks. Have a great day and see you all next time.
