Saba’s library now has a copy of my poetry book, I’m Only Human!

The libraryAfter going through my news-feed on Facebook yesterday evening I was met with quite a surprise. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the governor of my island, Saba, presenting my poetry book (I’m Only Human) yesterday morning to the head Librarian, Miss Nanny. The Queen Wilhelmina Library is located in the capital of the island known as The Bottom. It was quite a shock to say the least. It was so shocked that I laughed like a maniac, along with a friend of mine, for the first few minutes of seeing it. Continue reading

Happy (belated) birthday to my mother!

Hello everyone! I wanted to get this out earlier because this time was my mother’s birthday, June 16, but due to technical difficulties again I am posting it later then expected. My mother made 57 years old and so like I did for my father I also wanted to dedicate a video to her as well.I spoke to my mother yesterday on the phone and she was going all out inviting a lot people over to celebrate it with her at home. So I am happy she is enjoying herself.

I hope you enjoy this video and please subscribe to my YoutTube channel and follow me on my blog. If you liked this post please like, comment and share. Take care. 🙂 Continue reading

Tomorrow I will be attending the ‘Poetry International’ in Rotterdam!

IMG_20150610_120713Hello my lovely followers and new visitors! I haven’t written anything since last week because I was so busy with school assignments and exams (I even had an exam today at 2 o’ clock). So to be quite honest I didn’t have any time to write. I have been so tired and sleepy for the past few days that I can’t wait for all of this to be over. I’m almost there though! So I’m very sorry for the late blog post.

But anyway, I would like to say that yesterday I signed up and paid for an event called Poetry International that will be held in Rotterdam from the 9th to the 13th. Poetry International is an event where authors, writers, poets and novelists, like myself, will be attending from all over the world. Continue reading

Am I right or am I right?!…I cannot believe it is the already the 1st June and also it is half of the year 2015! Time sure does fly. Furthermore, today makes the first month that I started my blog. So, I am quite glad that I even made it to a month. And that is thanks to many of you who follow me and those who continue to come back to read my blog 😀

Friendless 1

Anyway, I would like to share another poem with you all. A poem that I wrote in early December of last year 2014, called ‘Friend…less’, (and published in my I’m Only Human poetry book). When I wrote this poem it was meant to signify that just because you think someone is your friend does not mean they feel the same way about you and support you and want the best for you. So I am posting it today and I hope you all like it. Don’t forget to like, comment and share. Continue reading

Recognising Good Poetry and Writing

poetic-pen

Just a few days ago I came across a poem (on some kind of family and friends forum) and I liked it so much I wanted to share it here. When it comes to poetry and novel writing, I am a very picky reader. If a poem does not grab my attention within the first few sentences then I usually do not read it to the end, which I think almost everybody can admit to doing with regards to other things.
