WhatisAngieuptoMondays: Keeping myself busy.

Good evening and Happy Monday for those of you who appreciate Mondays. l apologise for posting so late, some things came up.

Anyways, last Friday I bought myself a new phone after a year of struggling with my secondhand Chinese produced Mann phone. “Sorry Mann, it was fun when it lasted but I’ve found another.” 😛 Out with the old and in with the new.

Another Poetry and Music

Hello, everyone. I bring you another Sound Cloud poetry reading I like to call Poetry and Music. I posted my first Poetry and Music reading about three to four weeks ago and thought it has been long enough for me to do another reading.

Although the poem I am reading, Friend…less, has already been posted on my blog some time ago, I decided to do a reading alongside music that I thought best fit with my poem. This poem can also be found in my published poetry book, I’m Only Human. I hope you liked it and I will see you all again next time. Take care.

A North Sea Round Town Festival Performance by Vangelis Sopamena!

Hey y’all! Is everyone doing alright? The weather has been great lately especially considering how indecisiveness Dutch weather can be sometimes. 🙂

Anyway, Thursday evening I attended the performance of my good singer/ songwriter friend, Vangelis Sopamena, in the chillest and most relaxed lounge I have ever been in. The performance was in line with North Sea Round Town Festival that I briefly mentioned in one of my previous blog post (Exploring Rotterdam on a Lazy Sunday Afternoon) that has been taking place for the past few weeks in Rotterdam. Exploring Rotterdam on a lazy Sunday afternoon

Hello everyone! 😀 Did you all have a nice Sunday? I sure did!

Sunday afternoon I had a great time spending with my good singer/ song writer friend of mine, Vangelis (please visit and like his Facebook page to give him some love) in the city of Rotterdam. We met up at the Central Station and walked to a fancy looking restaurant, La Buvette, where live music was being performed by a promising Dutch Jazz singer/ song writer Maya Christina accompanied with her band. The atmosphere was really relaxing and cozy and the music that played was quite enjoyable. We ordered a little lunch and took some pictures and just enjoyed the comfy restaurant atmosphere.

Furthermore, (unknown to me) the jazz performance was a performance done for the North Sea Round Town that is currently going on in Rotterdam. This is an event that will be occurring this and next week where musicians will be performing for free around Rotterdam until the final night where popular musicians/ singers from all over the world (I think) will be attending. And of course that particular night must be paid for by the attendees. Or so I was told. I do not know anything about it, so I cannot really go much in detail about it…

We later walked around and my friend took me to see The Markthal that I have personally never heard of but apparently it is quite a popular building. Which rock have I been living under, lol… The Markethal was quite a huge building  with nice art of fruit and vegetables drawn on the ceiling. It was a type of market venue that had a variety of restaurants and shops inside. It was quite impressive. I do not think I have seen anything like it. Once inside my friend showed me around the building and we went into a restaurant to sip on some nice coconut cendol as we watched people walk below us and chatted away. It was a nice experience.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a little something about myself since I do not do this so often. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to also show me some love by liking and following me on my social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google Plus). Take care!

Saturday’s Anime con

Hello everyone! Just like I did last year I just wanted to post my most recent experience at an anime convention at the World Forum in The Hague. I started my day off at 6.30 in the morning. Yes, you heard right! I woke up 6.30 on a Saturday morning which was the first time I ever woke up so early on a Saturday morning. I was amazed. Anyway, I began to get ready to go to the convention about around almost 12. I prepared sandwiches, some fruit and drinks because I was money-less and was not able to buy anything. Besides, I only had 3 euros in my pocket and the food and snacks at the anime convention is usually very expensive, so a few euros would have definitely not been able to sustain me for the whole day at the convention. No way. Continue reading

I’ve REALLY started to love K-pop music…

Hello everyone. Did you enjoy your New Years Day on Friday? I enjoyed it with a friend of mine. We went to a Dutch equivalent to Disney World known as the Efteling. We spent practically the entire day there and this all happens after celebrating New Years the night before with our friends/ family and only functioning on 2.5 to 5 hours sleep. 😀 So you can imagine how haggard and tired we were. I hope you all had just as much fun.

Anyway, I wanted to write about my love and admiration for K-pop music. K-pop is so upbeat most of the time. I absolutely love it. I started getting into K-pop about a year and a half ago. Maybe even almost 2 years, if I’m truly honest. Continue reading
