Thoughtsoftheday: Trying New Things

The Thoughts of the Day this wonderful Wednesday evening is trying new things. It is always good to try new things and get out of one’s comfort zone. If we remain in our comfort zones we will never grow. Although at times it is good to specialise in a particular field however for self-growth it also requires change. We cannot expect to move forward if we remain in the same spot. In the end, we will become stagnant and no one wants that, right?

As I write, I am also trying to get out of my comfort zone because I am trying to explore what it means to be an entrepreneur (for my brand Angie’s Inspiration). It is an area that I do not particularly enjoy because I am a creative person after all. 😀

I am also venturing into  designing some of my own artwork and putting them on apparel. So, check out my Threadless Artist Shop to see what I have got so far. And if you think my art designs interests you enough to buy them, then feel free to also do so.

So, next time you think of trying something new that is not within your comfort zone, give it a go! You would be surprised with how much you can learn and how much you can grow by trying new things. Take care and have a nice day.

WritingRelatedFridays: A nameless poem by a good friend.

Hello, everyone. It is Friday and the end of another tiring week, once again! Oh, how the times fly…

Today is my Writing Related Fridays and I bring you a poem a good Dutch friend of mine wrote quite some time ago. He is by no means a poet but inspiration blessed him one day and he wrote this poem, that does not even have a title. 😛 Continue reading

I wrote my first Haiku!… I think

Hello, everyone and good afternoon to you all! I hope you are as happy as I am right now.  I am especially happy today because I had more people commenting on my posts than ever before. It was a nice feeling to see what others were thinking and seeing them express their experiences. Thank you all for your comments. You surely made my day. Continue reading

Only YOU can make yourself happy

Hello, everyone. How are you all? I hope you are all doing well. I am personally dying from this ridiculous heat. Today has been so hot in the Netherlands that even wearing shorts and a  tank top still does not help. I am sweating like there is no tomorrow.

Make yourself happy

Anyway, when you look at the image above what thoughts cross your mind? I came across this image some days ago on my Facebook newsfeed and decided I wanted to write a little something about it.

I can only speak for myself since I am my own person, but when I look at the image above I agree wholeheartedly with it. This is because too many people have this naive perception that in order to be happy they need to be with someone to achieve that, which is not the case. In my opinion, happiness stems from a person’s mindset. A couple of weeks ago I saw a commentator write how having your own family will absolutely make you happy. This is not the case for every person. You have some people rushing into relationships, marriage or having children believing the nonesense that society spews, that once you have a family you will become happy or ‘feel completed’. Then you end up with parents killing their family because they were not happy at all, but instead they ended up being miserable.Of course, some external factors can contribute to happiness but if you cannot make yourself happy from the bottom of your heart, then who can? Your happiness starts with YOU!

You may have a very social life and have lots of friends, or even have everything you may desire but if you do not feel happiness from within youself you will never truly be happy. It is basically just covering up a festering wound with a BandAid. I strive to make myself happy. What are your thoughts on this? Please post your comments in the comment section below and let me know what you are thinking.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you onFriday for my next post. Until then, see you all next time.

My children’s picture book is now underway to being published!

Hello everyone. TGIF! Is everyone doing well? It’s Friday yet again and today I am quite happy because I have some good news that I guess would make any writer happy! Continue reading

Valley of Tears

Bon Dia, readers! It just occurred to me that I have been posting less and less of my own poems and writing on my blog, although that was my initial intentions when I first created my blog. Well these things happen sometimes…

Anyway, today I just wanted to try something slightly different than usual, as you will see if you click on the link below. Today’s Writing Related Friday’s post is a short poem I completed a couple of weeks ago. It started with me writing only one sentence of the poem some months back, but at the time I could not think of anything else to write to complete it. I just did not know what else to write during that time. I can imagine that sort of thing could happen to the best of us.

However, I finally managed to complete the rest of the poem about a month ago which made me really happy and I have been wanted to share it with you all for a while now. If you do not mind could you also like and please let me know what you think of it? I would be more than happy to read your comments in the comment section below. Take care and have a nice day, until my next post. 🙂

Valley of Tears

In this world, I am quite lonely,

But I wonder if you would even care?

As I wallow in my sadness,

And wallow in my despair,

I do not ask for your pity,

That I would not be able to bear,

I only ask of you to please, don’t let me drown

In this never-ending valley of tears.
