Really Look at Me!

Hello readers and followers. Have you ever felt sometimes like people are not truly looking at you and who you truly are but only looking at you from the surface? Well, this poem reflects how I have felt in the past and sometimes even now. Some people tend not to see the real you below the surface, which can be a real shame.

Another Maya Angelou poem that’s a favourite of mine.

Hello All. How is everyone? Some time back I wrote a post about Maya Angelou being one of my favourite poets even though to be honest I know only but a few poets. That time I posted a poem from Maya Angelou called ‘Phenomenal Woman’ which is a personal favourite of mine.
Today I just wanted to share another of her poems that is also a favourite of mine. This is because some of the poems that Maya Angelou wrote I can somewhat relate to on a personal level if I may say so. Not to mention they are both confident and sassy but at the same time mellow. I especially like poems like that.

Historical women stories that are rarely told

Hey there, everyone. How is or was your Wednesday? I am doing well as per usual.

Anyway, I came across a video and article yesterday and I wanted to write a brief post about it today. Why are women in history and even in the present constantly looked down on as lesser than, even though women have made enough contributions to society and our current way of life to deserve a little recognition. Instead their stores and history are swept under the rug or have been put in the back burner compared to their male counterparts. Continue reading

Such a great poem!

Hello yet again everyone! There wasn’t that much time that passed between the last blog post I published last night and this one.

Also, it’s finally Friday which means time to relax and unwind… not. I have quite some work I have cut out for me to do over the weekend.

Anyway, today is my Writing Related Fridays and I just wanted to post something I came across a few days ago. It is a video of a poem being read by poet, Kayla Q, and I have to say what a powerful message and intense poem that was! I was so surprised myself. I can sometimes be a little critical when it comes to poetry and writing related work when I start to really get serious. Even more so with my own writing. But she was great, I have to admit. The Perks of Having a Little Sister

Hello everyone. Happy Saturday! My favourite day of the week. Sorry I was unable to make a post yesterday because I was a little tired and fell asleep. So today I’m making up for it with this post. Also, today I have been busy packing my stuff and relocating to a new place and that is my reason for posting late. Sorry for the late post and hope you still enjoy this post nonetheless.

I wanted to post the partial first chapter of a third novel idea I was working on some time back and still am working on. It is about an older teenage sister who hates her adored and coddled little sister. This is because of how much attention her baby sister is showered with and how she is not given any personal space to focus on herself and hang out with her friends etc. because of it. Until her little sister develops an illness that the medical doctors cannot pinpoint what exactly it is and this illness has her frequenting the hospital and on the edge between life and death. I hope you enjoy the first chapter of The Perks of Having a Little Sister. Continue reading

Because Worrying Never Benefited Anyone

Hello all. It’s another wonderful Friday! My second favourite day of the week. My favourite days of the week would be Saturdays and Sundays, lol. 😛 Today I am in a great mood! It has been a while since most days I’m either feeling neutral or tired.

Anyway, I just wanted to write a brief post for today including a short poem I wrote just this week after not having not written anything for several months. The poem is basically about the act of worrying too much and how it will lead nowhere in the end. Continue reading
