A spur of the moment Inspiration

Hey, everyone! Though I do not usually write blog posts on Sunday’s too often, I decided to write one today because I wanted to show instead of tell you all of a spur of the moment inspiration I had yesterday evening.

Did you know I used to draw back when I still lived on Saba? I used to draw/ sketch clothing designs and if I do say so myself, I was actually pretty good. Not perfect but good. I even thought of a clothing line brand name back then. However, after I came to the Netherlands I have not touched a single pencil or pen to draw anything. So, it would not come much of a surprise to me if I sucked at trying to draw something now after more than 5 years of not drawing. Continue reading

Grateful to everyone for sticking around

Goieavond iedereen. I hope everyone is doing well. It’s Friday once again. Really! The weeks are passing by so fast that we are already in March. The month of my birthday. Yay! (Or maybe not yay but damn. I’m getting older too quickly, lol.)

As many of you who regularly come to my blog can see, I changed the theme and layout of my blog. It took me almost a year to change it and try something new but I am really loving this new theme. I hope you all do too. 🙂 It’s so clean and chic. Continue reading

Woman saved thanks to hitmen’s principles

Hello everyone. Good evening. How was your Wednesday? Oh, by the way happy belated Women’s Day to all you fine women out there. 😉 Hope you all spent it well.

Anyway, some weeks ago I came across a BBC news article about an African woman who now lives in Australia, whose life was spared thanks to the hitmen’s morals. I became quite curious after reading a headline like that.

Apparently, the story goes that this woman returned to her motherland, Africa, because her mother passed away. While she was in her hotel room talking to her husband he suggested for her to take some fresh air outside to calm her nerves because she was still shaken up about her mother’s passing. And then as she did so the hitmen were  waiting right outside her door, covered her head and took her in their car to their hideout. Read the full story to get further details. Continue reading

Spring’s First Intermission

Hey there everyone! Happy Friday! Just came from speaking with some crazy friends of mine on Skype. Do you have any plans for over the weekend? I do not have so much of a plan but instead I am going to try studying and continuing to write my thesis.

Since it is March and Spring is just practically around the corner I wanted to write a blog post related to that. Lately I have been seeing a lot of signs of the the Spring season and I wanted to post a poem I wrote a while back about (my first) Spring in the Netherlands. This poem (as you probably can tell) can be found in my published poetry book I’m Only Human which you can buy on Amazon, Kobobooks, Barnes and Noble and Bol.com etc. I hope you like it and have a nice day. Historical women stories that are rarely told

Hey there, everyone. How is or was your Wednesday? I am doing well as per usual.

Anyway, I came across a video and article yesterday and I wanted to write a brief post about it today. Why are women in history and even in the present constantly looked down on as lesser than, even though women have made enough contributions to society and our current way of life to deserve a little recognition. Instead their stores and history are swept under the rug or have been put in the back burner compared to their male counterparts. Continue reading

Wine & dine

Hey there. Happy Friday! I am in a nice mood today, if I do say so myself. Today I wine and dined all by my lonesome as I watched anime and I L.O.V.E.D it! Now I am feeling like a stuffed pig and can barely move because of how stuffed I am. However, I am satisfied and that is all that matters to me right now. Although I do not need to drink myself silly and fill my gut to be happy today I still did it anyway because I can, 😛 Lol. Sometimes it feels so good to be able to do as I please. Continue reading
