Really Look at Me!

Hello readers and followers. Have you ever felt sometimes like people are not truly looking at you and who you truly are but only looking at you from the surface? Well, this poem reflects how I have felt in the past and sometimes even now. Some people tend not to see the real you below the surface, which can be a real shame.

Alone

Hello readers and fellow bloggers. It’s been a week since I last posted. How are you all? Today I just wanted to post a poem I found interesting and that was written by Allen Edgar Poe. I found it interesting because in the first couple lines into the stanza it basically mentions how from childhood he felt and was different from everyone else. The way he saw things and his passions it was different from everyone else and so he was alone. Well at least that is my interpretation of the first lines of the poem.

Why does society ridicule men when they experience domestic violence?

Hello all. It was a nice sunny day earlier today although I spend the whole day in my room, but oh well. I just wanted to write a brief post about how men who are sexually abused or experience domestic violence are ridiculed for this even though this can probably happen to anyone.

Many cases when men are sexually or domestically abused they are practically left to themselves to suffer alone. They are so ashamed  to mention this to anyone and that these sort of things are never brought to light. The men who experience these things continue to feel ashamed and lonely with no way to express themselves because of fear of being ridiculed. Why is that? Continue reading

Another Maya Angelou poem that’s a favourite of mine.

Hello All. How is everyone? Some time back I wrote a post about Maya Angelou being one of my favourite poets even though to be honest I know only but a few poets. That time I posted a poem from Maya Angelou called ‘Phenomenal Woman’ which is a personal favourite of mine.
Today I just wanted to share another of her poems that is also a favourite of mine. This is because some of the poems that Maya Angelou wrote I can somewhat relate to on a personal level if I may say so. Not to mention they are both confident and sassy but at the same time mellow. I especially like poems like that.

Muslims vs The West? Or just propaganda.

Hello everyone. How are you? Another week and I bring you another opinionated post.

*Although late* In response to the attack that occurred in Belgium last week I  want to send out my condolences to all of the family and friends of the victims that unfortunately got caught in the blast. I would also like to send out prayers to the family and friends of the 14 women and 2 girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram in Nigeria also last week. I would also like to send my condolences to the 86 Nigerians that were burned alive by the Boko Haram (many whom were children) in late January. As well as the many other Muslim victims killed in these senseless violence but unfortunately did not make in the news because they did not fit in with the media’s Muslims vs. West theme and propaganda. And it is amazing how many of the people are so easily swallowing this propaganda with not so much as questioning what they are ingesting.

Life is a beautiful thing

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you are enjoying the remainder of your day.

I just wanted to briefly say that despite everything that life hands to us, whether it’s good or bad, life is still beautiful. That is why when our lives are threatened we try our damnedest to try and cling on to life even if there were just but a glimmer of hope.

That is what I thought as I wrote this poem. So next time you feel time you feel down or out of touch please remember this poem. Have a great day everyone and much love. Continue reading
