Making Preparations for Upcoming Newsletters

Konnichiwa, Minna! Is everyone doing alright? I am doing alright but could be much better. If it were not for this bothersome cold I caught from the little rascals I am carrying for I would be so much better. But what can you do? (shrug)

Anyway, WELCOME to my What is Angie up to Mondays blog posts for those of you who might be new to my blog. As for my continued followers and readers, also welcome and thank you for continuing to read my blog. You all keep me motivated to continue writing. Continue reading

Almost anyone can be a writer if they have these 4 essential qualities.

Hello, all you lovely readers and followers. I really appreciate your continued readership and following.

Today my Thoughts of the Day topic will be about telling you all that: almost anyone who has the ambitions of becoming a writer can be a writer if that is what they really want.

After becoming a self-published author of my first poetry collection, I’m Only Human, (and a blogger of Angie’s Inspiration) I realised there are about four essential things all writers should have when venturing into the art of writing and book publishing. These four essential qualities are:

1. Having the confidence to put your work out into the world despite criticism that may arise in the near or distant future. You must always be prepared for criticism.

2. Having the drive to write your book because despite the consensus belief that writing a book is no big deal and is quite easy… think again. It is not easy. Writing your own book can be very hard and tiring. It takes time and consumes most of your time and mental energy.

3. Having a goal or vision for your book is especially important. Why is writing this book so important to you and how will you be conveying that message to your target audience in a way they can relate. So, no, you do not need to be a highly intelligent person to be able to write a book as so many people mistakenly believe. You just need to have a goal and/ or a vision and be convincing enough to convey your story.

4. A writer must have the perseverance to continue writing despite the past or future failures or if your work does not catch on to the general public right away. Writing,  like any other profession, takes a lot of time and you will need the will of steel to continue writing. You will not end up becoming a J.K Rowlings overnight because not even J.K. Rowlings became what she is today overnight. She also had a lot of publishers reject her work in the very beginning. Not to mention, writing books can be quite mentally gruelling. And not having your work recognised after all of the hard work you put into it can also be quite depressing. Especially, considering the literary sector is steadily growing smaller and smaller because in this advancing world of technology images and videos are becoming more and more the norm.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post if even just a little. If you have more to add to the list please post them in the comment section below. I would be very happy to read what you have.

Have a great day and see you all next time.

ThoughtsofthedayWednesdays: Make yourself  #1 in your life

Hey, folks. Though today’s post is short I thought it would be nice to talk about treating yourself well and by making yourself number one in your life.

Too often people assume and hope that someone else is going to or will make them happy, treat them well and make them their number one. In reality, that kind of thing seldom happens. Most humans think about themselves first before the thought of someone else crosses their mind. Humans can be very selfish and that is okay as long as you are not endangering someone’s life (or ruining it).

So for those of you waiting for someone to make you their number one and treat you the way you want to be treated, try treating yourself in that manner. Believe that you are number one and others will treat you in kind. If you treat yourself like a second fiddle then others will treat you the same way. How can you expect someone to treat you as  their number one when you do not do so for yourself? Well, that is just my two cents anyway. Live your life well and I will see you all for my next blog post. Take care. 🙂

Thoughtsoftheday: Be patient

Hello, everyone. Today’s Thoughts of the day is all about: having patience.

There are people who have an almost  unlimited supply of patience, those who have some patience and those who have very little patience. I fall into the category of having some patience and once that limit is reached I become very irritated. Which category would you say you fall into?

Anyone can become impatient once their level of patience is reached, but as the saying goes “Rome was not built in a day”. Nothing much comes out of things acquired easily. It is always the hard and nearly impossible things that take a long time to achieve or acquire. And that is usually worth the wait.

Even I have ambitions and wants that I fully aware will require me to have patience for a long. Such as one day becoming a bestselling author. But that does not mean I have to quit when things are not going my way or when it takes too long time to fulfil. That is because I want it bad enough that I can wait for now at least. My time will surely come. It may not be now or it may not even be tomorrow but it will surely come. Always remember that: every small step eventually leads you to your goals. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

WritingRelatedFridays: Truth be Told

Hello there,  is all well? Today I’ll be posting a personal poem I wrote just a few weeks ago that I would like to share with you all. And since I do not per se publish personal poems on a daily or regular basis I hope you like it. Giving it a like or a comment would make me very happy. 🙂
