Being alone or single does not equate to being lonely!

Hello everyone. Sorry for my long time being away. I took some time off without letting anyone know and went AWOL for quite some time. I deeply apologise for my absence.

Anyway, today I wanted to write a blog post regarding how society has somewhat conditioned us, especially women,  into thinking that we NEED to be in a relationship (or we need a man) or else it means we are lonely and maybe unwanted goods.

Correct me if I am wrong but do you not think society has done a fine job in perpetuating the idea that a woman’s only goals in life is to find a man, get married and have children? Never considering the idea that some of us WANT to be left alone and not date or marry or have children. Oh God forbid, if we enjoy being alone and single it must mean there MUST be something wrong with us or we must be a lesbian. Either one or the other. Because there is NO WAY that a woman can ever enjoy being alone. Continue reading

Muslims vs The West? Or just propaganda.

Hello everyone. How are you? Another week and I bring you another opinionated post.

*Although late* In response to the attack that occurred in Belgium last week I  want to send out my condolences to all of the family and friends of the victims that unfortunately got caught in the blast. I would also like to send out prayers to the family and friends of the 14 women and 2 girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram in Nigeria also last week. I would also like to send my condolences to the 86 Nigerians that were burned alive by the Boko Haram (many whom were children) in late January. As well as the many other Muslim victims killed in these senseless violence but unfortunately did not make in the news because they did not fit in with the media’s Muslims vs. West theme and propaganda. And it is amazing how many of the people are so easily swallowing this propaganda with not so much as questioning what they are ingesting.

Knock Knock…

Hello, followers… readers… friends. I want to say thank you to all those who have wished me a happy birthday on Thursday. It meant a lot. I’m grateful to have you as my friends. Thank you again.

Anyway, today I wanted to share a poem I came across on Facebook after scrolling down my news feed. I found the message to be so powerful, I was left speechless for a little while. It was not the type of knock knock I was expecting either. No jokes here whatsoever, sorry. In my opinion it is very serious but touching at the same time. Take a look at the video below. Life is a beautiful thing

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you are enjoying the remainder of your day.

I just wanted to briefly say that despite everything that life hands to us, whether it’s good or bad, life is still beautiful. That is why when our lives are threatened we try our damnedest to try and cling on to life even if there were just but a glimmer of hope.

That is what I thought as I wrote this poem. So next time you feel time you feel down or out of touch please remember this poem. Have a great day everyone and much love. Continue reading

A spur of the moment Inspiration

Hey, everyone! Though I do not usually write blog posts on Sunday’s too often, I decided to write one today because I wanted to show instead of tell you all of a spur of the moment inspiration I had yesterday evening.

Did you know I used to draw back when I still lived on Saba? I used to draw/ sketch clothing designs and if I do say so myself, I was actually pretty good. Not perfect but good. I even thought of a clothing line brand name back then. However, after I came to the Netherlands I have not touched a single pencil or pen to draw anything. So, it would not come much of a surprise to me if I sucked at trying to draw something now after more than 5 years of not drawing. Continue reading

Grateful to everyone for sticking around

Goieavond iedereen. I hope everyone is doing well. It’s Friday once again. Really! The weeks are passing by so fast that we are already in March. The month of my birthday. Yay! (Or maybe not yay but damn. I’m getting older too quickly, lol.)

As many of you who regularly come to my blog can see, I changed the theme and layout of my blog. It took me almost a year to change it and try something new but I am really loving this new theme. I hope you all do too. 🙂 It’s so clean and chic. Continue reading
