Hey, Hey, Hey Tomodachi’s!

It feels like it has almost been forever since the last time I wrote anything on my blog. I hope you can forgive me for pulling another one of my disappearing acts on you all. I have missed blogging after not blogging for the past three months.

Hey Tomodachi’s,

Good evening to all you lovely people near and far. How are you all doing this lovely Friday evening? I am doing good right this very moment because I not too long ago finished work. Most of the time I have the evening shifts so I do not always get the opportunity to leave work early. Though, I have to work the entire weekend never mind that for now.

My Frozen Heart

Hello Tomodachi’s,

Happy belated International Women’s Day! I hope that all you wonderful women of the world enjoyed your day yesterday. And on a second note, Happy Birthday to my dear older brother, Cornelius. I hope you are healthy and doing well.

Today I will be posting a poem I recently wrote called My Frozen Heart. I have not posted any poetry or any of my writing on my blog for several months because, honestly, I have been lacking in the creativity department for quite some time. Though it has been a while, I hope you enjoy this very simple poem about when a person’s heart turns cold for many reasons and circumstances they more than likely have no control over.

My Frozen Heart

My heart used to be so warm,

But now it has turned so cold.

It was frozen over by time,

Frozen by this unforgiving, cold world.

Do I regret it?

Maybe I do, Maybe I don’t,

But there is no longer any hurt

So in the end, I guess, maybe I won’t.

Will my heart ever beat again?

Maybe it won’t, maybe it might,

But after looking at my frozen but beautifully protected heart

I cannot help but think inspite of myself, ‘Oh what a beautiful sight…‘

Hello Tomodachi’s

How are you wonderful people doing this freezing winter cold Friday? I do not know if it is also ridiculously cold on your side of the world but on my side I am freezing my bunions off at the moment.

Anyway, though it has been a while since I last posted, I just wanted to briefly share with you all that a few days ago I realised that on the February 15th it made a year since I published my children’s picture book, Baby Toucan. I had totally forgotten about that until I received an email from my publishers congratulating me about it.

Well, thank you Xlibris for the reminder but you happen to be a little over two week late. 😂

Though the year passed so quickly that I feel like I am getting whiplash from how quickly it has gone, I am still grateful that I was able to publish my book and get to see another year.

Hey Tomodachi’s,

How have you been these last few weeks during the holiday season? Have you started working on achieving your New Years resolution or has it already become a hopeless case? I have been doing alright so far and have not really started on trying to achieve my few New Years resolutions as yet. Besides working my butt off during the holiday season for my massage job I was also able to share some nice memories and food with some of my closest friends.

New Years Eve was also spent with friends drinking the night and early morning away in Amsterdam as we watched the ridiculous amount of firework displays. I do not even need to mention New Years Day. It was spent travelling by train to return to my city and regretting ever drinking as much as I did the night before.

I cannot believe that today makes exactly a week since the year 2018 began. We are already a week in 2018! Can you believe how quickly that week has passed! 2018, you just began where are you going?!

Anyway, I am wishing you all the best and hope great things come your way this new year. Have a blessed 2018 everyone!!

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How are you this fine Friday afternoon? I think I may be getting another cold going by my runny nose, slightly irritated throat and constant sneezing. I did not get over my last cold barely even a week ago. How disappointing that I may end up getting it again…

Anyway, as I wrote on my last blog post on Monday, I had my spoken word performance on Wednesday evening. It seems to have gone pretty well when I think back on the crowd’s reaction to my performance. If you are interested in watching the live videos I had posted you can always go to my Angie’s Inspiration page on Facebook and check them out. I intend to make a mini video of my day leading up to the event and parts of the event itself if I get the chance to do so.

I may not be some genius poet of the sort but I try my best in all that I do. I look up despite my failures, nervousness and being (considered) not good enough. I refuse to remain staring down at my feet because of my insecurities. For how will I know what may or may not lie ahead if I am always staring down?
