Stop blaming because we should ALL try to help!

RefugeesHello everyone! My readers and followers thank you for continuing to follow a silly person like me, lol. Actually, I was so sleepy that I fell asleep earlier and just woke back up a few moments ago in the early hours of the morning because I just remembered I did not make a blog post as yet. 😛 Oh dear me…

Anyway, this is my Opinion Wednesdays blog post (although it is no longer Wednesday 😛 ) and I would just like to take note of the serious cases of refugees trying to cross many country borders in Europe to get out of their difficult living situations in their own country. I can imagine how difficult it must be for them and not being allowed to get in. It must be so difficult for them leaving their home, travelling so many miles and many times on foot and risking death all for the sole purpose of getting into a country that will allow them to lead better lives, only to be refused and shut out. I feel so bad for those poor people but have no means of helping them myself so I can only pray for them. Continue reading

A short video to sum up my summer vacation

Hello! Today is supposed to be my What I do with my life and The things I like Sundays and so to make up for not being able to post the short video of my summer vacation on time last week I will be posting it today instead. After all I do love Saba! No matter how small it may be. It is and forever will be my home. Anyway, I tried making the pictures change according to the beat of the music but with not much success, I know. This is probably not one of my best videos nonetheless this is the first video that I have made in quite some time so I hope you still somewhat like it. Take care and see you next time. What makes someone a good writer?

Hello everyone… I know, I know, I know! I went AWOL again. I am very sorry! Let me explain before you all attack me. On Sunday my intention was to make a blog post video summarizing my summer vacation in one minute. I underestimated the amount of time it would take me to complete it to be honest but this time it took me a lot longer to edit this video compared to any of my other videos and my other videos are much longer than this one. I’m not really sure why. I feel like I have forgotten some of my video editing skills somehow, lol. And also due to some technical difficulties I was not able to post on time on Sunday.

Then around late Monday afternoon my throat started to feel a little sore and by Tuesday I had a full blown throat inflammation. So for the past few days I felt like I was just about ready to kick the bucket. This was because I could barely swallow much less eat anything. I still tried though but it was too painful. I had a pretty high fever, my body was aching all over and for some time my head felt like a bobble-head because my neck also hurt and felt like it couldn’t support my big head anymore, lol. So for the past few days I have been mostly reserved to my bed, although I still went to school despite my condition because it was my first week of school after all! I didn’t want to miss any important information since this is also my last year of college as well. So I must be extra attentive now. So as you can imagine it was not a great week for me considering the way I was feeling. Actually, today is the first day since I became sick that I am not in pain and the swelling in my throat has gone down quite considerably. First week back in the Netherlands and I get sick. Arghh!

Anyway… Since today is my Writing Related Fridays I wanted to talk about what exactly makes a good writer? A lot of people believe that you have to be born a writer to be able to write which I do not 100% agree with. Sure, there are very talented writers that were born to be writers and there are writers who were not born to be writers but have amazing ideas and so they practiced and worked hard at it that they later did succeed to become writers. You could say I am one of the latter. I was definitely not born as a writer. I did not really have the innate talent and skill to write. Continue reading

We shall meet under the sun!

We shall meet under the sunKonnichiha (‘ha’ is pronounced as ‘wa’ in Japanese) my lovely followers and readers! Today is my Writing Related and Summer Vacation Fridays ( though I am no longer on summer vacation anymore) and it is my third day since returning to the Netherlands. I would like to share a poem with you all to mark my leaving Saba. This poem is called We Shall Meet Under the Sun. It is basically making a promise to see my beautiful island and my family and friends residing on Saba again next time, whenever that next time will be. Though it probably will be sooner rather than later.

A good friend of mine who I allowed to read my poem, about almost 2 years ago, said it sounded to her like I was writing a suicide note, lol. 😀 Do not worry. It is not anything like that. I’m still alive, right?! Lol. This is just a poem about a person and friend, who is leaving their loved one(s) behind but yet at the same time promising to someday meet again under the sun, wherever that sun may be shinning. Go Fund Me!

gofundmeHello everyone, my precious followers and readers. Como estas con ustedes? I am in a much better mood today than I have been in the past few days. I hope you all are also doing well.

Anyway, do you remember me mentioning last week Friday that I was starting a new children’s picture book project? Well, today I made a GoFundMe account in order to be able to get some help with funds in order to publish a few of them. Continue reading

The woes of some girls and women

obstaclesHello everyone. Is everyone doing well this fine day? I, unfortunately, am not having the best of days like I usually do. I am a bit in a foul mood today but I will not let it get in the way of me getting through the rest of the day. Anyway, today is my Opinion Wednesdays and I would like to briefly discuss a few things, I believe, that some girls and women have experienced while growing up just because of the simple fact that they were born female.

There were many things people would tell us females we should do, say or act in order be seen as more feminine. And not acting in this certain way meant you disappointed some people and their beliefs. But who really cares? Now, I will list 9 things some girls and women alike experience during some points in their lives that men usually don’t. Continue reading
