WritingRelatedFridays: An inspirational quote (tip) for aspiring writers

Hello, everyone and good evening to you all. My Writing Related Fridays post is going to be especially short today. I just wanted to place this quote here for all my aspiring fellow poets, writers and bloggers out there. Read the quote below and please let it sink in:

“Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”
– Barbara Kingsolver

Even as a writer, I must keep this in mind as well. I believe that this is because once you try to figure out what you think someone might want to hear, you lose your originality and what makes you different from the rest.

Honestly, anyone can become a writer. It greatly depends on how much is their desire to write and what you have to offer.

Thoughtsoftheday: Trying New Things

The Thoughts of the Day this wonderful Wednesday evening is trying new things. It is always good to try new things and get out of one’s comfort zone. If we remain in our comfort zones we will never grow. Although at times it is good to specialise in a particular field however for self-growth it also requires change. We cannot expect to move forward if we remain in the same spot. In the end, we will become stagnant and no one wants that, right?

As I write, I am also trying to get out of my comfort zone because I am trying to explore what it means to be an entrepreneur (for my brand Angie’s Inspiration). It is an area that I do not particularly enjoy because I am a creative person after all. 😀

I am also venturing into  designing some of my own artwork and putting them on apparel. So, check out my Threadless Artist Shop to see what I have got so far. And if you think my art designs interests you enough to buy them, then feel free to also do so.

So, next time you think of trying something new that is not within your comfort zone, give it a go! You would be surprised with how much you can learn and how much you can grow by trying new things. Take care and have a nice day.

WhatisAngieuptoMondays: Rerun of the Drinking Tea with Vee interview!

Hello, and good afternoon Tomodachi’s (friends).  Today I will be posting a few hours earlier than usual because I wanted to inform you before it got a little too late. About two weeks ago I published a blog post, This Saturday, I will definitely be drinking some tea with Vee. On that blog post, I mentioned I was going to be interviewed on her show and it would air on the 18th on Asylum Radio. I also mentioned how this interview was in regards to my upcoming children’s picture book I plan to publish in the next few months. Continue reading

WritingRelatedFridays: Women who dress a certain way are “Asking for it”

Hello, everyone! Having a great day? Me, too. 🙂

Apparently, there are some people claiming women who dress a certain way are “asking for it”.  I can never understand this whenever I hear people saying such things. They even have the nerve to say that when it is a young and innocent child being sexual abuse or accosted.

It does not matter whether a woman is fully clothed or not, they still get attacked and it is still her fault. It seems no matter what a woman wears or does it is always going to be her fault for: Continue reading

Thoughtsoftheday: Persistence and determination are the keys to success

Konnichiwa minna! How is everyone? I do hope you are all doing well. Today is especially hot in this part of the world (33* C), so I feel like I am practically melting away.

Anyway, I came across an article on Entrepreneur a few days ago and was so impressed with the person who has faced so many failures and mistakes but still persisted to pushing forward with determination. In all honesty, it was a bit painful for me to read at first because I can somewhat relate to him a little. Although I have not experienced the level of soul-crushing failures Jack Ma has experienced, I am the type of person who still needs to try twice or three times as hard just to get average results. It makes me so frustrated. Continue reading

Thoughtsoftheday: Show compassion, because we all know Karma can be a real bitch!

Hello, all. For quite some time I was thinking if I should keep or change my Opinionated Wednesdays posts to something else. After much thought about what to do with it, I decided on changing it to Thoughts of the day Wednesdays. Anyway, I came across this short film on Facebook starring Alicia Keys and immediately thought that I wanted to write a post about it. Continue reading
