Look up

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How are you this fine Friday afternoon? I think I may be getting another cold going by my runny nose, slightly irritated throat and constant sneezing. I did not get over my last cold barely even a week ago. How disappointing that I may end up getting it again…

Anyway, as I wrote on my last blog post on Monday, I had my spoken word performance on Wednesday evening. It seems to have gone pretty well when I think back on the crowd’s reaction to my performance. If you are interested in watching the live videos I had posted you can always go to my Angie’s Inspiration page on Facebook and check them out. I intend to make a mini video of my day leading up to the event and parts of the event itself if I get the chance to do so.

I may not be some genius poet of the sort but I try my best in all that I do. I look up despite my failures, nervousness and being (considered) not good enough. I refuse to remain staring down at my feet because of my insecurities. For how will I know what may or may not lie ahead if I am always staring down?

Anyway, the poem below expresses exactly how I feel and in just a few words. I hope you enjoy it and I will see you all next time. Take care and have a great day everyone!

Gist Podium Spoken Word Performance!

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How are you all doing this nice Monday afternoon? I spent my Mondays like I always have done for the past several weeks: I sleep in until some time around noon and then get up to go to my massage job until 12 o’ clock midnight.

Anyway, I just wanted to briefly let you, my dear readers, know that I will be performing some spoken word at a Gist Podium event on Wednesday the 15th of November starting from 20.30 – 22.30 pm. So those who can come, please come out and show your support. I would highly appreciate it! I also plan to go live on my Facebook page, so if you cannot make it for whatever reason you can always watch it wherever you may be at the time. ‘I gotchu’. 😀

Also, a piece was written about me as can be seen below and it goes something like this, for those who do not quite understand the Dutch language:

“Angie Ignacio orinigally comes from the very small Caribbean island, Saba. She is crazy about dancing, singing, manga (comics) and listens to Asian music because she is a real Japanese fanatic and tries to learn the Japanese language. She has also already written a poetry book collection and a children’s picture book. But for Gist #34 she comes as Angie’s Inspiration for her English spoken word and poetry”

My Upcoming Christmas Spoken Word and Book Sale Event.

Hello Tomodachi’s

How are you all doing? Recently I have decided to organize my very own and not to mention, my very first event. What better time to have it than for when Christmas is right around the corner, right!? Christmas somehow almost always gets people in a good mood and I want to be a part of that happy, good mood. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to be? Continue reading

This is photoshoot number 3!

Hello Tomodachi’s,

I think it has been a little over two weeks if not more since my last blog post and I just wanted to share a few of those photos taken from a third photoshoot I have had with my photographer friend Mick. You all remember Mick, right? I think these photos came out pretty good if I do say so myself. They were quite classy. With these pictures, we were trying to play around with the idea of the human shape and how direct and indirect light falls on the human frame allowing the viewer to view the body in many different ways, which I find pretty amazing.

A poetic kind of day

Konnichiwa Tomodahi’s,

How is everyone doing? I was just thinking about how it has been a while since I last posted anything poetic on my blog. Today feels like a poetic kind of day if you know what I mean. So, I decided to post another poem of mine since it has been quite a while since I last posted one of my own.

Though I have already posted this poem some time back, I made some changes to it and I was wondering if you could spot the difference, if you are even able to find the previous version of this poem, that is.

If you do not care much about spotting the difference between this poem and the previous version then I hope you just enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing and improving on it. I hope you take care and have a great day.

For a while now, I have become quite disappointed in anime because of their use of some tv tropes…

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How have you all been today? For me, it has been a very windy day not to mention I was having some bike issues because something got wrapped up in the wheel and chain of my bike which caused the chain to come loose and made me have to walk all the way home in this damn windy and cold weather. Though, this is not one of the reasons why I am writing this blog.  Continue reading
