I am a DC Pearls Nominee!

Hello everyone! Although, it is no longer Friday, I would like to share some news with you, my blog followers and readers. I have been nominated for the Dutch Caribbean Pearls an event organised for Dutch Caribbean students or professionals who have achieved something while living in the Netherlands after leaving our homes in the Caribbean.

There are 7 Categories and they are: 1. Student, 2. Literature and Arts, 3. Music and Entertainment, 4. Science, 5. Sports, 6. Entrepreneurship, and 7. Socially. I was nominated in the category of Literature and Arts because I published my first mini- (poetry) book, I’m Only Human, earlier this year and that is seen as an achievement as a young adult coming from the Dutch islands. T.I’s Sexist Comment Regarding Women Becoming President

Buenas noches todos! How is everyone? I’m doing alright as usual. Today is my Opinion Wednesdays and today I would like to talk about the comment that T.I made while being interviewed and being asked his thoughts regarding the presidential election. And this is the comment that he made:

“I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally – they make very permanent, cemented decisions – and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen,” he said, before adding that it would be just awful if a woman president set off a nuke and later changed her mind about it.

“The world ain’t ready yet,” he added. “I think you might be able to get the Loch Ness Monster elected before you could [get a woman]. It’s not right, but I’m just saying.”

Thank you all!

Hello, all of you lovely people. Today is my Writing Related Fridays and this post will be a brief one. First of all, I am proud and ecstatic to say that after about a little over 5 months of starting my very first official blog, I received a notification a few days ago informing me that my blog managed to make the 100 mark of 100 likes. Although to others it may seem small but I am so happy and grateful to my readers and followers because without you all coming back to read my postings I doubt that I would have made it to 5 months, lol. So thank you for continuing to visit my blog and reading my written work and my opinions etc.

People should learn to appreciate what they were born with!

Bon nochi (papiamento = good night) everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and continue to enjoy it. Today as most of you already may know is my Opinion Wednesdays where I just like to choose a subject that has somewhat interested, annoyed, saddened, and encouraged me and I state my opinion. Well today I would like to talk about how people should appreciate with what they were born with because you hear too many people talking about getting plastic surgery here, getting Botox there, getting liposuction down there, getting breast enhancements etc. And the list goes on. A Phenomenal Woman

Konnichiha minna! Today is my Writing Related Fridays and I would like to share with you one of my favourite poems written by Maya Angelou herself. Though she is no longer with us, she will forever live in our hearts through her poetry. I aspire to be somewhat like her ,where one day my poetry can also be just as inspiring and great as hers were.

She was and continues to be a phenomenal woman to this day. Something I strive for every day. I hope you all had a great week and I will see you all next time. Take care! 🙂 Continue reading

The world has become such a superficial and fickle place…

Hello everyone. How is everyone today? I am doing alright. I do not have much of anything to complain about. The last half of today I finally started my first day of my placement for my final year of college at a company called Spotzer Media. I will be their Social Media Intern until the next six months. I had school in the morning and later caught the train and went directly to my job from two until a little after 5.30 pm. I’ll be working Thursday and Friday as well and trying to finish some of my assignments. So my work is sort of cut out for me. We’ll see how everything goes.

Anyway, today is my Opinion Wednesdays and I wanted to talk about a video I saw on Facebook of Cristiano Ronaldo being dressed as a homeless man while playing soccer in the streets of Barcelona. Please watch the video below. Continue reading
