There is no progress without change.
Hello, everyone. How is everyone doing this nice Wednesday evening? Although, I am still sick with the flu I am doing much better today.
Today’s Thoughts of the Day blog post will be about knowing and deciding when to make changes in your life in order to progress. Everyone should already know by now that without change and without stepping out of one’s comfort zones you will never be pushed to your limits and you will never realise your true potential. Konnichiwa, Minna! Is everyone doing alright? I am doing alright but could be much better. If it were not for this bothersome cold I caught from the little rascals I am carrying for I would be so much better. But what can you do? (shrug)
Anyway, WELCOME to my What is Angie up to Mondays blog posts for those of you who might be new to my blog. As for my continued followers and readers, also welcome and thank you for continuing to read my blog. You all keep me motivated to continue writing. Continue reading
Almost anyone can be a writer if they have these 4 essential qualities.
Hello, all you lovely readers and followers. I really appreciate your continued readership and following.
Today my Thoughts of the Day topic will be about telling you all that: almost anyone who has the ambitions of becoming a writer can be a writer if that is what they really want.
After becoming a self-published author of my first poetry collection, I’m Only Human, (and a blogger of Angie’s Inspiration) I realised there are about four essential things all writers should have when venturing into the art of writing and book publishing. These four essential qualities are:
1. Having the confidence to put your work out into the world despite criticism that may arise in the near or distant future. You must always be prepared for criticism.
2. Having the drive to write your book because despite the consensus belief that writing a book is no big deal and is quite easy… think again. It is not easy. Writing your own book can be very hard and tiring. It takes time and consumes most of your time and mental energy.
3. Having a goal or vision for your book is especially important. Why is writing this book so important to you and how will you be conveying that message to your target audience in a way they can relate. So, no, you do not need to be a highly intelligent person to be able to write a book as so many people mistakenly believe. You just need to have a goal and/ or a vision and be convincing enough to convey your story.
4. A writer must have the perseverance to continue writing despite the past or future failures or if your work does not catch on to the general public right away. Writing, like any other profession, takes a lot of time and you will need the will of steel to continue writing. You will not end up becoming a J.K Rowlings overnight because not even J.K. Rowlings became what she is today overnight. She also had a lot of publishers reject her work in the very beginning. Not to mention, writing books can be quite mentally gruelling. And not having your work recognised after all of the hard work you put into it can also be quite depressing. Especially, considering the literary sector is steadily growing smaller and smaller because in this advancing world of technology images and videos are becoming more and more the norm.
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post if even just a little. If you have more to add to the list please post them in the comment section below. I would be very happy to read what you have.
Have a great day and see you all next time.
When there’s a will there’s always way!
Hello, folks. How are you? Although, I can imagine a lot of you are not happy and are very disappointed in the presidential election of the United States I hope you are still doing okay.
And sorry for being away for a while. I apologise. Usually, I like to write my blog posts at least a day or two ahead of the day I am supposed to publish them but for the past few weeks or so it has not really been possible.
Anyway, on Tuesday I posted on my Instagram and Facebook page (if you follow me on social media) that there was a written piece about me and my upcoming children’s picture book, Baby Toucan, in the Daily Herald newspaper.
I was quite ecstatic about it because it was my first time being in the newspaper. Especially, considering all that I do for the publications of my work and the costs that go into doing it takes a lot out of you sometimes. And not to mention I am basically doing this all on my own [initiative]. So it felt nice having some of my hard work recognised. Even though what you know and see is just the tip of the iceberg. A lot goes into writing and making a book. More than anyone can imagine.
Anyway, you can read the piece below and if you are interested in buying the picture book (for children between the ages of 4 – 8) then send me an e-mail on my new e-mail address: info@angiesinspiritation.com. Take care and have a great day. See you all next time.

Thoughtsoftheday: What is status when you have class?…
Hello, hello, hello everyone! How are you all? I do hope fine. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I was not able to publish my blog post yesterday. And I ended up falling asleep while trying to fix it. But from now on I shall be able to post on time since I will be getting some more time to myself in the next couple of days.
By the way, yesterday I was helping one of the kids (the older child that is eight) with their Dutch homework. Although, my level of Dutch is nowhere near fluent and perfect, it is good. I was actually surprised by how good it was. I was expecting to be stumbling a bit more than I did but I did pretty good for not being a fluent or almost fluent Dutch speaker.
Anyway, this Thoughts of the Day post is about trying not to present yourself in a way that you are not. As much as possible try to please yourself.
I am writing this because recently I became friends with someone that is very concerned about dressing a certain way to present a certain status of themselves to others that they are not. However, I just do not understand this type of thinking because I feel like these kinds of people are basically just thinking too much about other people and their impressions.
People will always find a way or a reason to judge you even if you have a fancy title, a high status or if you buy only branded clothing. And in my opinion having a status gives people more expectations and reason to judge you. Just look at Michelle and Barack Obama and all the disrespect they get from some people. Even though they are the President and First Lady of the US and are two of the classiest people I have ever seen they are still disrespected.
I choose to first please myself and fulfill my own happiness instead of worrying of what people think of me.If I were to choose between the two , classiness vs. status, I would faster choose to be a classy person instead of worrying about dressing a certain way to present a certain status that I am not and trying to maintain it for the sake of others. It becomes tiring after a while. I am not saying to be a slob but be yourself and feel comfortable in whatever you do because you will not be able to please everyone. That is ridiculous.
Anyway, in the end it is to each their own. Have a great day.
