The pen is mightier than the sword

Hello tomodachi’s,

I apologise for the late blog post but hope that this post finds you well. With this post, I wanted to inquire if there were anyone else who still try to cling on to the notion that the pen is mightier than the sword mentality like I do?

I write in the hopes of improving or bettering this world with my writing if that’s even still possible especially in the world we live in. It always pains me when I see how corrupt and messed up this world has become. However, if my writing could help at least one person who is in need of it or helps guide someone into becoming a better person than that would make me really happy, to say the least. With those thoughts in mind, I can continue writing.

What about you? I am always open to hearing others’ ideas and opinions so do feel free to comment or message me about certain writing related topics as well as some other topics. I would be happy to discuss and converse with whoever is interested in doing so.

Overcoming fears of failure

Hello tomodachi’s,

Good day to you all. Hope you are all doing well. Today’s Thoughts of the Day is about overcoming one’s fears of failure.

As I get older I come to the realisation that sometimes overcoming (fears of) failure is a necessary evil we all must face and overcome in order to succeed. As they say: “Failure either makes you or breaks you.” Continue reading

Happy Saba Day!

Hello everyone,

It has been so long since I last posted a video of myself on my blog. Since today is my island’s national day, Saba Day, I wanted to commemorate it by making a video and singing part of Saba’s National Anthem (although I made a slight mistake when singing the song 😛 ). Happy Saba Day! No matter where I am in the world Saba will forever be my home and the beautiful ‘Unspoiled Queen’ that I know and love.

Furthermore, this video was also made to commemorate finally gaining 100 followers on my blog of one and a half years.100-blog-followers

This is the first time I am uploading a video of myself singing (although I am not a good singer) so take this little video as a THANK YOU to all my readers and followers who continue to read and follow my blog as well as the newcomers. I hope you will like the video and I will see you all next time.

Have a great day and take care. Until next time!

If I were to die today or tomorrow…

Hey there!

I do not mean to sound morbid with my blog post’s title but as I get older I always find myself mulling over the thought of if I were to die today or tomorrow would I be able to say I was happy or lived a full or fulfilling life? Was that too deep?

Almost every path I have chosen for myself I have kept these kinds of thoughts in mind. Life is so very short and goes by so very fast that it is unbelieveable that we are already in the last couple of days of November and going into December. We are almost at the end of the year! Not to mention, we have no idea when will be our last. So, we can never properly prepare either. Just as suddenly as we enter the world just as suddenly we leave.

When my life flashes before my eyes and my last hour has come, I want to be able to smile and confidently say I had lived a great fulfilled life. At this moment I cannot confidently say that, but I am continuously working on it.

How about you? If you were to die today or tomorrow would you be able to confidently say you had a fulfilling life? What does having a fulfilling life mean to you and what have you done to try making your life more fulfilling?

Have a great one and see you all next time.

Challenge accepted!

Hey, you lovely folks. These past few days I have been feeling a little irritable but every day cannot be sunshine and roses, right?

Anyway, on Sunday I was told by my singing coach to write a spoken word poem because he though it would help me with practicing how to sing properly. However, the problem (well, not really a probem) is I have never written a spoken word poem before. I have no experience in this area but I still took the challenge for myself. I have read a couple of my poems when I record myself on camera, but that is nothing compared to spoken word, so this was sort of a new area for me.

I never said I could not write it but I just never tried. It never crossed my mind before to try even though I have posted many spoken word poems on my blog before. Within less than a day my poem somewhat completed. This morning I sent my spoken word poem voice recording to some friends asking for their  feedback. Although, I have never had explicit content in any of my writings, this piece called for it and it might be a smidge explicit for some. So be Warned.

I do intend to share this spoken word one of these days but not at this moment. Once I have perfected it I might share it later.

Well, that is all for today, folks. Have a great day and see you all next time.
